To add another tweet, tap the highlighted plus symbol (the icon will illuminate once you have input text). If you exceed the character limit, the excess content will be highlighted for simpler editing before you tweet. To delete a section of a tweet, simply highlight it and press the Delete key.
How to Create a Thread
One simple way is to add contd. And then write a new tweet. But, again, it distracts from reading. So, it's better to use any of these 3rd party sites, which will let you send tweets with more than the 140 character limit. Also, if you add a link to your tweet, your tweet character limit will be reduced to 120. However, some Twitter users may still be able to read it.
Some websites and applications have found ways around this restriction by allowing you to post longer messages.
Longer tweets: Some people can post up to 280 characters on Twitter. The reason why others cannot do so is because there is no point in doing so. Since everyone has a limited amount of time to spend reading tweets, it makes sense for Twitter to restrict how much text you can include in a message.
There are some services that will let you post longer texts if you're willing to pay for it. For example, Puffer allows you to post up to 1,000 words on their platform. This service is paid though, with prices starting at $9.99 per month or $99 per year. Alternatively, Longreads has a feature called Long Form Content, which allows you to post articles that are as long as you like. You can even post multiple pieces of long form content on one page if you want to.
Twitter threads: Another way to get more than 140 characters on Twitter is by using threading.
Then, at the conclusion of the second tweet, type "(2)" and push the "Tweet" button. If two tweets aren't enough, add a third with the word "(3)" at the end. Continue in this manner until you've spoken whatever you want to say. Then go back and edit the first tweet to include @username for notification purposes.
Paste the text into your Twitter client's 'Compose New Tweet' window. The formatting will be preserved. If you wish to format more text, repeat the procedure. Enter it into the text box, choose your formatting options, copy the prepared text, and paste it into your Tweet. Ta-da!
Open Twitter in a new tab and write a new tweet. Enter the same Twitter username and counter as before, but modify the numbers to "2/3." Then, copy and paste the content, making care to stay under 280 characters. At some institutions, merely turning up for tryouts is sufficient, but at more competitive programs, you'll have to compete other classmates for a roster place. High school athletes should work hard and spend time developing their dribbling, shooting, and conditioning skills before trying out. In addition to playing time, the decision will also be based on how you fit into our style of basketball and your overall competitiveness.
The first step towards increasing your character count is to go to your Settings page. Here you will find all the information about your account, including its security settings and email address. Click on this option and you will reach the screen shown below. Here you can see that my current character count is limited to 280 characters.
You can still add words to your tweet after it has been sent by clicking on the "..." button next to the Send button. This will open up a menu where you can select different ways to continue tweeting. The most direct way is to click the Copy button which will create a new tweet with the same message and link but with the additional words attached. Alternatively, you can click the More button which will show you more options such as @username (to respond to someone) or #hashtag (for popular topics). Finally, there's the Attach button which will display all your accounts and allow you to attach files to your tweets.
