Maintaining a record of your magazine subscriptions
You can renew your membership to The Week online by selecting the number of years you want to renew and then clicking the RENEW button. Enter the postal address from your current issue of The Week, and your renewal will be added to and extended to your existing subscription. You can also select a different publication date if necessary.
Make direct contact with the firm. Whether you subscribed to magazines directly from the publisher or through a third-party firm, you must contact them immediately to cancel the undesired subscription. Not all magazine subscriptions are fraudulent. A subscription problem is frequently resolved peacefully by businesses. If not, they will attempt to resolve the issue with you via email.
The best way to cancel a magazine is by direct contact with the publishing company or its agent. Sometimes these firms will remove themselves from the process if they have been paid in full by the subscriber. However, if there's any chance that the problem may have been an error on your part, such as receiving a different magazine than what you ordered, then it's important to make sure before canceling that you are taking care of everything correctly.
If you sent in a cancellation form that was included with your invoice, then all you need to do is wait for the publishing company or its agent to respond. This usually happens within 30 days of sending in the cancellation form. If for some reason you do not receive this form, however, you should still be able to find out how to cancel your subscription by calling or writing the publishing company.
It is important to cancel your subscription quickly so that another person does not take your place when it comes time to renew.
To the right of your address, read. The month and year will be visible. For instance, October 11th or October 2011th. This implies that your magazine membership will expire this month and the next month. This information may be found on most magazine labels. Some magazines include their issue date in the title, so you would just need to look out for those.
Some magazines have a cover date rather than an expiration date. This is the date after which someone who buys your magazine can still receive it. So if your magazine has a cover date of September 1st, then it should be delivered by September 1st or afterward. If it's past that date, then there's no use in opening it up.
Magazines are published in months with thirty-one or thirty-two days. So if your magazine has 31 days of issues per month, then there are 4 months to the year. If it has 32 days of issues per month, then there are 5 months to the year. Most magazines fall into this second category. Some special monthly magazines have 33 or 34 days of issues per month. These are called "long months" and they change from year to year. Others have 29 or 30 days in some years and 31 or 32 days in others. These are called "short months". Try not to worry about this too much; it's only important if you plan to stay current with your magazines.
