In MS Word, you may choose a rectangular region of any size. Simply hold down the ALT key and the left mouse button to make this free-form selection. In the Page Setup dialog box, you may also change the page size.
Quickly double-click a single word to choose it. Place your cursor at the beginning of a line of text and click Shift + down arrow to select it. Place your cursor at the beginning of a paragraph and press Ctrl + Shift + down arrow to select it.
Insert a text box Select Insert > Text Box, then Draw Text Box. Drag the text box to the desired size by clicking or tapping on the document. To add text to a text box, first select it and then enter or paste text into it. When you're done, click anywhere outside the box to remove the text.
