2,000/2=100 If you need to add pennies to $1,200, replace the "00" in 00/100 to a number. In this case, you would replace the "/100" with "//10". This checks out because 100*12+0=1,200.
You can also write a check for less than $1,200 by typing a negative number instead of zeros for the decimal place. So, instead of writing "2000", you would type "-$10,400". When you sign the check, put a minus symbol before the negative number.
