It is actually pretty difficult to fail, so as long as you put even the smallest bit of effort to comprehend what ToK is, you will not fail. Obtaining an A, on the other hand, is not simple. You need to understand that getting an A in this class is like winning the lottery. It may seem like there is a small chance of this happening, but it is not likely to happen by luck. The only way to get an A in this class is by putting in some serious effort.
Now, as I mentioned, trying to obtain an A is not easy. This means that if you plan to get an A in this class, you should start now. There are several ways you can do this: first, you can watch some of the videos posted on our website. These will help you understand what concepts we cover in class and also learn some new things. Next, you should take notes in class. When you get home, read over your notes and practice any test questions that come up. Finally, write essays for each other topic, which will help you improve your writing skills and also give you ideas about what you could write about for your own topics.
Now, everyone fails at least once in their life. If you did not study or did not try hard enough, then you will probably fail.
It is not difficult if your points are well structured. Don't complain about it; just get it done. Also, considering TOK is into philosophy, study up on certain concepts like the problem of induction. You can also research some famous philosophers like David Hume or Bertrand Russell.
Do not try to be original. Instead, follow what other people have said and use that as your starting point. For example, you could say something like "Income inequality in Sweden has increased over the years because of the rise of the rich who own companies." This would be a good start because it uses facts and figures but also mentions two important factors: income inequality and the Swedish economy.
Also, do not write too much. Try to keep your essays under 500 words if you can. If you need to write longer than that, then split it up into several articles instead.
Finally, use proper grammar and spelling. If you write something down, think before you hit enter. Also, only use full sentences! It makes reading easier for others and yourself later on.
The majority of your scores will be based on your TOK essay. It accounts for 67 percent of your ultimate TOK grade. You will be given a list of essay titles to choose from. They are designed to challenge you and look at issues outside of your comfort zone. Answering these questions allows us to make sure that you have thought about these topics deeply and provide excellent commentary on them.
Your writing center staff will read each essay title carefully before assigning it to you. This ensures that the task is relevant to your ability level and honors department policy. Remember, they want to know what you've thought about today's topic - not just whether you can write its acronymic abbreviation!
After you have chosen your topic, come up with some ideas to respond to it. You should allow yourself 20 minutes to write an insightful response. Start by identifying a question related to the topic that you would like to ask in your essay. For example, if your topic is "Managing Change," your first sentence might be "Why do people resist change?" Once you have your question in mind, think about possible answers to it. Are there any examples you can find in history or current events that might help explain why people resist change?
You may want to look up words you aren't familiar with in a dictionary or thesaurus.
