To indent a paragraph, enter the desired distance in the Left or Right box under Page Layout. In order to indent the paragraph one tenth of an inch, write 0.1. Enter a number in the Before or After box to adjust the amount of space before or after the paragraph.
Then, under Design, select Paragraph Spacing. Choose the spacing you want (the default is open), and note how your entire manuscript will preview as you hover over the various choices. If you don't like those options, you may adjust the numbers under Paragraph Spacing by clicking Custom Paragraph Spacing. In this case, choose a value that's too high or low, and click Reset to make sure the spacing returns to default settings.
In a section of the manuscript, change the line spacing.
Navigate to Home > Paragraph and Line Spacing. Select Line Spacing Choices, and then select the Spacing options you wish. To adjust the spacing between the chosen paragraphs, click the arrow next to Before or After and input the desired amount of space. These settings are saved with your theme.
