In a section of the manuscript, change the line spacing. To select all, use CTRL + A. Select Line Spacing Options and fill up the line spacing box. To modify the spacing between paragraphs, change the Before and After settings. Choose OK. Press ENTER.

Change the line spacing throughout a document. Select Design > Paragraph Spacing from the menu. Select your preferred choice. Choose No Paragraph Space if you wish to single space your work. This may cause problems with tables, figures, and other objects that have been set to be in paragraph mode.
Choose the paragraphs you wish to modify. Navigate to Home > Paragraph and Line Spacing. Select the amount of line spaces you want or Line Spacing Choices, and then the Spacing options you desire.

To format paragraph spacing, first pick the paragraph or paragraphs to be formatted. Click the Line and Paragraph Spacing command on the Home tab. Click "Add Space Before Paragraph" or "Remove Space After Paragraph" from the drop-down menu. The paragraph spacing in the document will alter. To view your changes, click OK.

Then, under Design, select Paragraph Spacing. Choose the spacing you want (the default is open), and note how your entire manuscript will preview as you hover over the various choices. If you don't like those options, you may adjust the numbers under Paragraph Spacing by clicking Custom Paragraph Spacing. In the Property Sheet window, scroll down to find the Paragraph Spacing option.
