Where preparation meets opportunity, is success?

According to an old Oracle coworker. By chance, I stumbled upon a comment by Denzel Washington, one of my favorite performers, who said much the same thing. "Luck is when an opportunity presents itself and you are ready for it."

I think about this a lot because I believe luck plays a role in every aspect of life. No matter how hard you try, some things are just out of your control. But other things can be manipulated through preparation, confidence, attitude, etc.

For example, if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to get it. It may not be easy, but if there's a will, there's a way. The key is having the right frame of mind. You have to believe that you can do it if you really want it bad enough.

In sports, especially American football, basketball, and baseball, athletes make their own luck. If you're on a team that's having losing seasons or someone gets injured, it's hard to keep your faith until they recover. However, if you're part of a team that's winning ball games, people are getting injured and missing time, it's easy to remain confident even when things seem bleak.

The best players are always going to get the opportunities they deserve.

How do you prepare for an opportunity?

5 Ways to Be Ready for Opportunities

  1. “Opportunity favors the prepared.” –
  2. Mind your money manners, but know when to take risks.
  3. For your health’s sake, eat well.
  4. Make the right type of mistakes – made while being courageous and ambitious, rather than defensive, lazy or ignorant.
  5. Look for opportunities, seek them out.

Who said preparation is the key to success?

Alexander Graham Bell Quotes Preparation is the key to success before anything else.

5 votes. "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail," stated Benjamin Franklin. What he meant was that success does not come by chance. It needs preparation, knowing where you're going and how you're going to get there.

Why is persistence important for success?

Persistence distinguishes the victors from the losers. Those who persevere recognize that only failures trust in luck. Perseverance is also known by other names, such as resolve and a can-do attitude. Life success is determined by your commitment to never quit up, even if the payoff is delayed. The more you persist, the better your chances of success.

The secret of perseverance is consistency. You cannot succeed at something if you are not consistent. If you want to be persistent, then you have to stick with it over time. This means not giving up even though things get hard or frustrating.

Sometimes we need help from outside sources when it comes to persistence. For example, someone who is very persistent may be able to stay with an activity or task for a long time before taking a break. But this person would still need help from others at times to ensure they don't go too far without a break. External factors such as these can play a role in determining how persistent you are.

Success doesn't come overnight. It takes time and effort to reach your goals. However, those who keep working at it will eventually succeed. Persistence is key to success.

Is luck or hard work the key to success?

The secret to success is hard effort. If you feel that success is solely due to chance, you are less inclined to strive as hard as if you believe that success is due to hard effort. No matter how fortunate you are, or what genes and circumstances you have, history indicates that you still need to work hard to succeed.

Hard work is also crucial for failure. If you haven't tried yet something new, then you can't fail at it. Failure is an important part of learning; it tells us when something isn't right. Without failures, we would never know what works and what doesn't. You must try things out to find out what fails and what succeeds.

Some people seem to achieve more than others without putting in as much effort. The difference between them and you is that they were born with an innate talent or "skill" that you don't share. Such people may look upon your efforts with disdain because they think you should be doing exactly what they do instead of trying to make your own way through life. This is called "equality of opportunity" and it means that everyone has an equal chance of succeeding based on their skills. Some people are just better at some things than others. This is called "inequality of outcome" and it means that some people will always succeed no matter how hard they try while others will fail even though they too try hard.

It's true that ability can help you but it cannot guarantee success.
