Michael B. Jordan: Michael B. Jordan has been chosen the sexiest man alive by People magazine for 2020. Despite the fact that this year has been upended in practically every aspect, People magazine was determined to continue its 35-year tradition of naming the Sexiest Man Alive.
The publication announced its choice on Friday at the start of the annual Hollywood holiday season, with Jordan taking home the top spot over his competitors. The other nominees were James Bond actor Daniel Craig, Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville, and Zendaya.
People wrote that Jordan was selected because he is "known for his work in action films that include Black Panther, Creed, and Free State of Jones." They added that he is also "respected as one of cinema's greatest box office draws," having earned over $100 million since his film debut in 2002."
Jordan has won several awards throughout his career, including two Golden Globe Awards and a BAFTA Award. He's also been nominated for an Academy Award five times but has never won.
In 2020, Jordan Jordan was named the People's Sexiest Man Alive. Almost everyone was pleased with it. We've identified 37 more extraordinarily attractive men who we believe are suitable runners-up for the award this year.
The People's Sexiest Man Alive is an annual title given out by People magazine to a male celebrity they find most attractive. The award was created in 2000 when Peter Brady withdrew from the contest due to personal reasons. He was replaced by actor Jared Padalecki that same year. In 2001, both Brady and Padalecki won again; however, since then no one has won on three consecutive years.
Since its inception, the winner has been chosen by voting online atpeople.com. Each year, several other males also receive high rankings based on votes from female readers. These runners-up are selected by people.com staff members who evaluate all the sexiest man contenders based on physical appearance and public opinion.
In 2020, photographer Jordan Bracey shot a spread called "The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2020" as part of his series called "Beauty Beyond Beauty." This list is composed only of men who have been named as runners-up or winners of other awards or recognized for their work. There are seven actors, four musicians, three writers, and two designers on the list.
