Bryan Adams Mr. Michael Kamen Lange, Robert John Have You Ever Truly Loved a Woman? /Musicians Bryan Adams is a Canadian singer-songwriter. His songs are often about love and romance.
He grew up in Burnaby, British Columbia and began playing music in local bands at age 15. He then moved to Boston where he attended Saint Mark's School of Music. After high school, he moved back to Canada where he lived for several years before moving to London where his career took off.
In addition to being one of the best-selling music artists of all time, he has been nominated for three Grammy Awards and won two Juno Awards.
Kamen later said that he had written this song for his wife Linda. They had met when she worked as a background vocalist for Adams during his first American tour in 1990. They got married in 1992 and have two children together.
Adams says that he wrote the song after hearing an old Linda Rose record that her family had kept from when they were a singing group called The First Ones. On the record was a song called "Have You Ever Truly Loved A Woman?" which inspired him to write his own version of this song.

He's one of the most successful singer-songwriters in Canada and the United States. He's also one of the most polarizing figures in Canadian music history. Bryan Adams was born Brian Adams on January 4th, 1957 in Montreal, Quebec. The only son of a school teacher and a dentist, he had an idyllic childhood. When he was 11 years old, his family moved to Toronto, where he eventually became a teen idol. Over time he began experimenting with hard drugs (especially cocaine) until he finally quit in 1990.
He then turned to a more spiritual side and started writing songs that were based on his own experiences. His first album, which included songs written when he was using drugs, sold millions of copies. But it wasn't until after he got married and had a daughter that he found peace with himself and his life. Today he's one of the most respected voices in adult contemporary music and has been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
So, who is this man who has sold tens of millions of records all over the world?
Composers/Anyone Can Fall in Love?
The first popular song, "Somebody New", was written by Henry Lawes with music by Charles H. Dibdin. It was published in 1845 and became a hit after being performed by Ellen Tree and her daughter Clara. Tree was an English actress who came up with the idea for her act to include singing by her guests.
She may not have known it at the time, but Tree's guest that night was also writing songs. William Henry Monk was a young man who had recently come to London from his native America where he had been performing as a singer. He met Tree through another actor who worked with her and heard her ask for some new songs. Impressed by what he knew of her talent, Monk began writing songs on the spot. Within a few months, he had composed enough material for an album. Tree liked what she heard and hired him as her assistant composer. The two grew close and when Monk later decided to move to Paris, they ended up parting company. However, they remained in contact through letters and calls and finally decided to get together again when Tree came to Paris in 1872. They spent several months traveling around Europe before returning home.
Composers/Sweet Caroline. The song was written by Neil Young for his album After the Gold Rush.
Neil Young has said that he wrote Sweet Caroline while listening to Tony Joe White play at a club in Toronto. He told Rolling Stone: "I liked the way he played it, so I wrote him a note on a piece of paper, saying 'That's a great song but you gotta play it like this.' And then I went and bought a guitar and played it for myself, sort of like proofreading my own song."
Young also stated that he did not intend for anyone else to sing it, but when Linda Ronstadt heard it she wanted to record it. So he gave her the song with no intention of her recording it, yet here we are more than 30 years later and it's still one of her most popular songs.
Linda Ronstadt has said about writing lyrics to Sweet Caroline: "It was really easy. It's a love song - very simple."
